WHAT’S HAPPENING
MITSUBISHI PARADE
The colour-coded parade at Mitsubishi Owners Day NZ is truly unique and is a sight to be been in person. The new venue will allow the parade to be captured in a single shot because of it’s flat nature which is something we’re very excited about.
ROLL RACING
Roll Racing is fun and is growing to be one of the most popular track activities. The concept is simple, you race another vehicle from a rolling start at around 40kph (50kph max), the vehicle on the right sets the pace and if you’re on the left, keep up and once the light goes green, it’s a race until the checkered flag. There is also a High Power Shootout for the heavy hitters! NOTE: Passengers are also allowed and must purchase a passenger band at the Scrutineering Shed, passengers must have the same safety equipment as the drivers see below. If you’d like to roll race, simply head to the scrutineering shed ($25, eftpos available).
SALE YARD
Want to sell your Mitsubishi at Mitsubishi Owners Day NZ? Putting your Mitsubishi in front of Mitsubishi enthusiasts will greatly increase your chances of a sale. Simply register online to get your car into the venue, there is no extra sellers fee. Open to ALL Mitsubishi cars, vans, trucks, anything.
SWAP MEET
No extra fee for registered entrants. Simply set up some space and you’re good to go. Transfer cases and axles will be in huge demand. Who’s hoarding all the good bits? here’s your chance to make some $$
AWARDS
While Mitsubishi Owners Day is about having fun, we have a number of trophies up for grabs… ROLL RACE WINNER + RUNNER UP and if we have enough heavy hitters there will also be trophies for the WINNER and RUNNER-UP of the ‘Diamond Shoot Out’. The winner and runner-up of the ‘Diamond Shoot Out’ will also WIN themselves track entries to THE NATS 2 days on track 18-19 July at Hampton Downs.
For the Car Clubs, The TOP CLUB OVERALL + RUNNER UP awards return to MOD this year and there will be few STANDOUT awards as well. These will be awarded to any cars/drivers that ‘stand out’.
NOTE: King + Queen of Diamonds awards will not be up for grabs this year. There is also no formal prize giving, winners will receive their trophies between 4pm – 5pm.
ROLL RACING SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Vehicle Requirements:
- A WOF is NOT required, however all vehicles must meet WOF or Motorsport safety standards.
- Current driver’s license
- No leading fluids (oil/fuel/water)
- Vehicles previously banned from NAPA Auto Parts Dragway Meremere (e.g. running quicker than 10.59) are not eligible to race unless the required licensing and safety gear have been obtained.
Driver Safety Requirements:
- Helmet – Motorsport approved (NO Motocross (MX) or half-shell helmets)
- Secure seatbelts/harnesses
- Appropriate protective clothing (long sleeves, long pants, enclosed shoes)
- Foam Neck Brace or FHR Brace (such as HANS or similar) Optional. Recommended but not required.
- Single Layer Race Suit – SFI or FIA. Optional. Recommended but not required.
